Nawal's contemporary choreography to Hozier's song 'Movement"

Features lyrical musicality, and some bellydance isolations.

We work classic bellydance veil lines and combos.

This piece is about invoking the memory of a mood that once held you that is now gone.

choreography does feature a lot of turns that will be optional.

Class will be taught with some in place and across the floor drills.

BYOV! (bring your own veil)

students may want to wear dance shoes

Nawal's class will run Mondays's July 6, 13, 20, 27

6:30 - 7:30 pm EST

Nawal is a Multi-medium artist born in the thick fog of the bay of fundy. She is  a professional Middle Eastern Dancer and educator and a sought after pernce artist known for her historical re-creations and dark character work in mantra doom band Zaum. Her father immigrated to Eastern Canada from Egypt in the late 70's giving Nawal a different perspective on growing up as a second generation foreigner.

She has owned and operated multiple studios dedicated to Yoga and Bellydance since 2009. and is respected as an ambassador of Egyptian arts and culture through her work in   The Salimpour Bellydance format, and the Islamic mystic arts of Tannoura (whirling) and Zarr.

A life long builder and artist her creations of body chains, and most recently life-like rams horns are now all available and showcased in her web store .

Her confident and powerful presence is unmistakable,  wether performing or teaching and she uses this energy  to hold space for her students  to explore their own artistic frontiers. All branches of her work connect to methods of cultivating  authentic self and healing past traumas through art, beauty and awareness.
